About Joy

Joy has practiced law in state and federal courts across the southeast since 2000. Prior to entering the practice of law she was awarded a judicial clerkship where she had the opportunity to be directly involved in all areas of litigation. Joy practiced at a prestigious defense firm for several years and her commercial litigation experiences is an invaluable asset to the firm’s complex matters. A dedicated student, Joy graduated magna cum laude with a Distinction in Leadership Studies in only 3 years from Birmingham Southern College and attended the University of Alabama School of Law. While in law school she was a member of the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society, Managing Editor of the Law and Psychology Review, President of the Farrah Law Society and recipient of the Jerome Hoffman Student Leadership Award.

Joy is an active member of the community and has been involved in philanthropic pursuits for over 20 years. Her work in that regard has been largely focused on the service and development of children and teenagers. While serving for several years as a pet therapy volunteer to pediatric cancer patients, Joy’s eyes were opened to the significant need for improvement in facilities, services and research in the fight against pediatric cancer. That experience and her passion for children provided the seed to co-found CURE KY Kids, Inc., a non profit organization with a mission of providing funds, awareness and services to children fighting childhood cancer and their families. Joy was the visionary behind the Curing Childhood Cancer specialty license plate and she currently serves on the Board of Directors for Kids Cancer Alliance.

Joy is happily married to Matt Minner and they are the proud parents of 4 children.
