About Carl
“If you know your adversary and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.” For almost two decades, Carl has been litigating complex professional liability cases and a wide array of other cases throughout Kentucky, including aviation, automobile, premises liability, products liability, toxic torts, real estate transactions, and general negligence. Over the past three years alone, Carl has taken six complex medical malpractice cases to trial and successfully prevailed on behalf of his clients in all six trials. Carl credits his success as a trial attorney to out-working his opponents, and he prides himself on the strong personal relationships he garners with his clients. Carl is proud to apply his trial experience and insurance defense background to passionately advocate for victims and their families.
Carl holds an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell and from 2015-2021 was named a “Kentucky Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, an honor bestowed on less than 2.5 percent of all lawyers in Kentucky. In 2023, he was also named a “Super Lawyer.” As a result of Carl’s frequency in the court room and number of favorable outcomes at trial, he has earned the recognition of being “one of Kentucky’s most prolific trial attorneys” by the Kentucky Trial Court Reporter.
Education
Carl was born in Paducah, Kentucky and has extensive contacts throughout the state. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa with honors from the University of Kentucky in 2003 and from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2006, where he was the President of the Student Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Kentucky.
